Plant Health

The best way of ensuring plant health, is to start with a healthy soil. AgNutri recommend that programs for plant health primarily consider soil status, and where at all possible, the soil fertility be "balanced" before looking at specific crop requirements. It is however not always practical or economic to fully achieve ideal soil conditions in the short term. At times, even when soil fertility and structure are ideal, a number of other factors, such as low or high temperature, dry, wet or windy conditions or pest and disease pressure, can dramatically reduce crop yield or crop quality. In addition some crops have specific demands, such as a higher requirement for certain nutrients, that cannot be met from even an "ideal" soil alone. In these situations, for a rapid correction or boost, key nutrients can be applied via the leaves or by using fertigation (nutrients added to irrigation water) to ensure a successful crop. There are other innovative products now available, that can also be applied with these same methods, these products help to reduce the impact of negative influences that induce plant stress. It is important to understand the plant's physiology and know which option, and the correct timing, that will give the best result.

AgNutri have the best options and experience in testing and measuring plant performance. We have worked with all types of crops commonly grown in New Zealand, from pastoral to arable to horticulture and viticulture. We utilise plant tissue testing and feed quality analysis provided by Hills Laboratories. We also utilise new technologies like Fluorimetrie, an innovative method of determining the "active" nutrient status of plant tissue in the field. Results are available within about 1 hour of the start of sampling. These testing methods are complimented by our experience and understanding of plant symptoms and crop phenology.

AgNutri have the understanding, experience and expertise in "fine tuning" most crops.
