AgNutri is an independent company servicing the rural sector, primarily advising on soil fertility and plant health. Our services are driven by principles of sustainability and productivity. Our aim is to establish valuable long-term business relationships with clients and suppliers.
Although we specialise in soil and plant nutrition, we also provide assistance with crop management and crop protection. AgNutri does work closely with other independent suppliers, distributors and advisors, as this enables us to share our expertise, more effectively, cover a larger geographical area and provide our clients with the most cost effective solutions.
If we feel that more specialist advice is required, we have available a number of highly experienced individuals we can engage to help.

Our History
AgNutri was established in 2011 to meet a growing demand from the agriculture and horticulture sectors for, sound practical solutions to improve both sustainability and productivity. We are very focused on our customers, we work to achieve the customers goals in a holistic way and customers are encouraged to have input at all stages of any work we do.
AgNutri has built strong partnerships with the best suppliers of inputs and advice. We can supply fertiliser, seed, chemical and equipment at competitive rates along with the best advice. We also supply biological products to enhance soil quality and reduce chemical fertiliser inputs, reducing the impact on the environment while improving yield and quality.
Our Team
AgNutri is owned and operated by John and Louise McKendry and based just north of Christchurch. John is the principal advisor and has over 35 years experience in the horticulture industry, including more than 25 years in the horticulture service industry, advising growers and assisting them selecting and applying inputs.
Crop Protection
AgNutri can offer sound advice on crop protection alongside competitive prices for quality agrochemical products. John has certified qualifications and experience in this area, including Growsafe and Approved Handlers certificates.
Plant Health
The best way of ensuring plant health, is to start with a healthy soil. AgNutri recommend that programs for plant health primarily consider soil status, and where at all possible, the soil fertility be "balanced" before looking at specific crop requirements.

Soil Fertility
A truly fertile soil is more than just a block of dirt to grow a crop or pasture with a bit of help from an addition of some bulk fertiliser.
A truly fertile soil is a finely tuned balance of bio-chemistry and micro-biology. Nutrients are required to be present in precise proportion to each other and to the soil properties. Correct biological diversity is also required to maintain a healthy soil with good structure and good nutrient availability for healthy plant growth.
AgNutri are always happy to talk to farmers, commercial growers and small block holders who are interested in improving their soils their produce quality and their productivity in a sustainable way.
